Awakening and Centering: qigong and mandalas for you this Spring!
DATES: Saturday afternoon,April 22, 2017 2-4:30 p.m.
Location: Natural Phuel, 1700 B South Main St., Farmville, VA.
In this two part workshop you will be introduced to a useful Qigong routine for self-care and healing as well as the practice of using mandalas ~ a Sanskrit word meaning "sacred circles".
Qigong is an ancient Chinese technique incorporating mind, body and spirit in movement, breath and focus. You will learn about awakening your body by activating acupuncture points through massage and tapping on the body like the Olympic athletes. Qigong is a pillar of Traditional Chinese Medicine and recognized by the National Institute of Health.
The Saturday session will include parts of the description which follows, but will be influenced by the participants of the day!
Following the introduction to Qigong, the first session will guide participants in a step by step process of creative visualization for accessing guidance and integration. The follow-up session (two weeks later) will experience new Qigong techniques then move into the teachings from Kellog's Grand Round Mandalas, the stages of self development and ways to use one's mandala practice to integrate over time. Participants will create unique mandalas during each session to combine ancient and psychosynthesis practices to facilitate insight, self expression and healing. Tuning within and using creative arts is rewarding in unexpected ways.
With the Qigong experiences each session, you will feel the benefits as you practice. You will also be able to take home and immediately implement a NEW and quick routine to help increase your energy, boost your immune system and prevent and recover from most chronic diseases. Qigong is based on the 5 organ systems: liver, heart, stomach, lung and kidney systems.
"Your mandala teaching awakened the artist in me after a very long slumber. I am grateful for that." workshop participant
